Alexandr Morozov

Born on 28 March 1965 in Elektrostal, the Moscow Region.

Education

In 1987, he graduated with honours from the Department of Economics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

In 1992, he defended his Ph.D. thesis on economics at the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In 1993, he received a degree in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

He holds the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences; has a good command of the English language.

Career

1984–1987: Department Assistant at the Department of Economics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

1987–1993: Research Assistant, Junior Researcher, and then Senior Researcher at the Institute of Economics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

1993–1994: Researcher at a representative office of Kerry Limited of Delaware.

1995–1997: Senior Researcher at the Higher School of International Business, the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation.

1994–2005: Economist at the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank Group).

2005–2015: Chief Economist for Russia, CIS and Baltics at OOO HSBC Bank (RR).

Since 2015: Director of the Research and Forecasting Department at the Bank of Russia.
