In 1913, the tercentenary of the Romanov dynasty’s rule was celebrated. The House of Fabergé was commissioned by the Cabinet of His Imperial Majesty to manufacture items to be used as official gifts.
One such item was a silver scoop, which is now a part of the collection of the State Institution on Formation of the State Fund of Precious Metals and Precious Stones of the Russian Federation, Storage, Release and Use of Precious Metals and Precious Stones (Gokhran of Russia). Its decoration mainly features national symbols, with the image of Saint George (who is also depicted on the Moscow coat of arms) embossed on the eagle’s chest being the most notable one.
The information was provided by the Gokhran of Russia.
