Novelist Mikhail Prishvin, the 150th Anniversary of his Birth
Obverse

Mikhail Prishvin (1873–1954) was a Russian novelist and an author of stories and essays about nature. His first story (‘Sashok’) was published in 1906. In 1912–1914, the writer published his first collection of works. During the First World War, Prishvin was a corpsman and a front-line reporter. From 1923 and until his death, he was writing an autobiographical novel ‘Kashcheeva Tsep’. The novelist was a traveller. He visited the Far East, the Far North, Karelia, collecting folklore and ethnographic notes that he reflected in his own creative works.
