Obverse
in the center - the Emblem of the Bank of Russia (the two-headed eagle designed by I.Bilibin, lower - the semicircular inscription - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA) framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top - "ДВА РУБЛЯ" (TWO RUBLES), at the bottom - "2000", the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
to the right -the portrait of E.A.Baratynsky in an oval frame with a vignette, to the left - the pictures of trees, small bridge with a column above a water body, a rotunda and the thunder - sky, at the bottom - the dates in two lines "1800" "1844", a rose, a candle in the candlestick, a manuscript sheet, a goose-quill in the ink pot, the inscription along the rim: "Е.А.БАРАТЫНСКИЙ" ( E.A. BARATYNSKY).

Evgeny Abramovich Baratynsky (Boratynsky) (b. March 2, 1800 - d. July 11, 1844) - Russian poet whose works are marked with lyricism, psychological and philosophical profundity (the poems "Eda", "The Ball", the anthologies "Verse", "The Twilight"). He carried out the original elaboration of elegy and message genres.
