Data, Projects and Processes Department
The Data, Projects and Processes Department (DPPD) was established on 15 January 2024 on the basis of the Projects and Processes Department (PPD) and Data Governance Department (DGD).
To ensure a synergistic effect, the DPPD comprises the functions of data governance, including the integration of methods of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics into the Bank of Russia’s business processes, and process management. Additionally, the DPPD continues to perform other activities of the PPD and DGD, including project management, centralised collection and processing of information from financial market participants.
The Department manages the Bank of Russia’s portfolio of projects controlling and coordinating their implementation. The priority area of work to develop the project management methodology and tools is the expansion of flexible approaches and introduction of product teams at the Bank of Russia.
As part of process management, the DPPD implements tools to re-engineer, improve and digitalise business processes, ensures the management of the headcount model and provides methodological support for function standardisation and headcount optimisation. To improve the efficiency of the Bank of Russia’s business processes, the DPPD aims to integrate the most promising digital tools, including tools and methods of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics.
To improve the quality and accelerate decision-making at the Bank of Russia, the Department develops the Data Catalogue, introduces centralised services to ensure users’ access to descriptive data and self-service tools for users. Also, the DPPD develops and implements the Bank of Russia’s management analytics system.
As part of the centralised collection and processing of reporting, the Department develops electronic document flow between the Bank of Russia and financial market participants using the personal accounts technology. The DPPD develops requirements for the procedure for compiling and submitting reports and other information from the market participants using modern formats (including XBRL — extensible business reporting language).
