EAEU financial market regulators discuss measures to mitigate negative consequences of COVID-19

Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina took part in the meeting of the leaders of the central (national) banks of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states and Kazakhstan’s Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market held on 4 June 2020 as a video conference.

As the key topic, the participants in the event discussed the packages of measures being implemented by each of the regulators to ensure macroeconomic sustainability, price and financial stability, and to mitigate the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak.

The participants focused on the current macroeconomic conditions and the situation in the financial markets of the EAEU member states, including in the money and FX segments, on the forecasts and potential trends of key macroeconomic indicators.
