According to the data of credit history bureaus (CHB), the share of lending to borrowers aged under 35 was up by 8 pp on average across all lending segments.

Credit cards were becoming increasingly popular: in accordance with data as of 1 July 2024, the number of their users increased by 5.2 million or by 22% over the year. The number of cards issued to young people aged under 20 was up.

The number of individuals (mostly aged over 35) with car loans surged by 44% over this period, exceeding two million for the first time.

The number of borrowers having cash loans decreased by 0.5 million.

To make mortgage loans more affordable, banks were extending the repayment periods and issuing them for 25–31 years more often. As a result, almost a half of mortgage loans issued in 2024 H1 were granted to borrowers who would be over 65 as of the maturity date.
