in the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES), below: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue "2009 г." (2009), to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
The architectural ensemble of the monastery with the mirror reflection against water surface, inscriptions along the rim - above on the matted field: "НИКОЛЬСКИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ" (THE SAINT NIKOLAS MONASTERY), below: "СТАРАЯ ЛАДОГА" (STARAYA LADOGA).

The Saint Nikolas Monastery (Staraya Ladoga, Leningrad Region) is known since 1250. Its main architectural objects - the Temple of Saint Nikolas, John the Baptist Church and the Golden Gate are in the final stage of restoration.
