The Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin (XVIth ctntury)
Obverse
in the center - the Emblem of the Bank of Russia (the two-headed eagle designed by I.Bilibin, lower - the semicircular inscription - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA) framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top - "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES), at the bottom - the date "2000", the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
the pictures of fortress walls and towers of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, above them - the seal of the city of Nizhny Novgorod of the XVIth century: a deer framed with the inscription along the circle: "ПЕЧАТЬNОВАГОРОДАNISОВСКIАЗЕМЛI" (THE SEAL OF NIZHNY NOVGOROD LAND). The inscription at the top along the rim: "НИЖЕГОРОДСКИЙ КРЕМЛЬ" (THE NIZHNY NOVGOROD KREMLIN), at the bottom - the date "XVI в." (XVIth century).

The Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin was built by Russian skilled craftsmen in the beginning of the XVIth century according to the highest achievements of the military defending skill of those days. Situated at the confluence of the Volga and Oka rivers it is a powerful fortress surrounded by 13 towers.
