Obverse

in the centre – the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it – the semicircular inscription «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim – on top: «ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ» (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES), below: to the left – indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre – the year of issue «2007 г.» (2007), to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

The Main Company of Russian Railways was founded on the initiative of the Russian manufacturer and financier A.L. Stieglitz on January 28, 1857 with the aim of building the railways net spreading to about 4000 versts (4240 km). It passed through 26 provinces, connecting Saint Petersburg, Warsaw, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, main navigable rivers and two ports on the Black and the Baltic seas.
