The silver scoop was a part of the Fabergé collection of items intended to be used as official gifts to mark the tercentenary of the Romanov dynasty’s rule. The jewellery firm was commissioned to manufacture them in 1913. The scoop is close in shape to a traditional Russian kovsh and resembles an image of a waterfowl. Its decoration mainly features Russian national symbols.
