On 2 October 2024, the Bank of Russia issues silver commemorative coins ‘Fabergé Scoop’ of the Jewellery Art in Russia series in the following denomination:

— 3-ruble coins;

— 25-ruble coins; and

— 25-ruble coins with a coloured coating.

The silver scoop was a part of the Fabergé collection of items intended to be used as official gifts to mark the tercentenary of the Romanov dynasty’s rule. The jewellery firm was commissioned to manufacture them in 1913. The scoop is close in shape to a traditional Russian kovsh and resembles an image of a waterfowl. Its decoration mainly features Russian national symbols.

The 3-ruble silver coins (fine precious metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1,000) and 25-ruble silver coins (fine precious metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1,000) have a round shape and are 39.0 mm and 60.0 mm in diameter, respectively.

The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim around the circumference.

The obverse of the coins features a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins ‘3 РУБЛЯ’ (3 RUBLES), ‘25 РУБЛЕЙ’ (25 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2024 г.’ (2024), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, the Saint Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.

The reverse of:

— the 3-ruble coins (Catalogue No. 5111-0511) and 25-ruble coins (Catalogue No. 5115-0164) features a relief image of the Fabergé silver scoop; the background with the monogram of Nicholas II, resembling the shape of an egg, laser-treated for matte finishing and framed with a decorative relief ornament at the bottom; inscriptions around the circumference: ‘ЮВЕЛИРНОЕ ИСКУССТВО В РОССИИ’ (JEWELLERY ART IN RUSSIA) at the top and ‘КОРЧИК’ (SCOOP) at the bottom;

— the 25-ruble coins with a coloured coating (Catalogue No. 5115-0165) features a relief image of the Fabergé silver scoop; the background with the monogram of Nicholas II, resembling the shape of an egg, with the effect of light interference and edged with an oval relief frame with a decorative ornament; the outer part of the background and the emerald on the scoop decorated with coloured enamel; inscriptions around the circumference: ‘ЮВЕЛИРНОЕ ИСКУССТВО В РОССИИ’ (JEWELLERY ART IN RUSSIA) at the top and ‘КОРЧИК’ (SCOOP) at the bottom.

The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The coins are minted in proof quality.

The mintage of:

— 3-ruble coins: 3,000 pcs;

— 25-ruble coins: 500 pcs; and

— 25-ruble coins with a coloured coating: 500 pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation and are mandatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
