On issuing of commemorative coin of precious metals
On April 1, 2015 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues a commemorative coin of precious metals:
- A silver proof coin in denomination of 2 Roubles — „The 175th Anniversary of Composer P.I. Tchaikovsky’s Birth” (catalogue number
5110-0139) of the series „Outstanding Personalities of Russia”.
Description of the coin of precious metals:
A silver proof coin in denomination of 2 Roubles (fine metal content 15.55 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 33.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs), has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin „ДВА РУБЛЯ” (TWO ROUBLES) and the year of issue „2015”, between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse sideof the coin bears a relief image of P.I. Tchaikovsky against the background of birch branches, a stave, a score and a violin. There is a stylized inscription „П.И. ЧАЙКОВСКИЙ” (P.I. TCHAIKOVSKY) to the right of the composer and the dates „1840”, „1893” in two lines below.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
