On working meeting with representatives of ARIA

On 26 December 2014, Bank of Russia Governor Elvira S. Nabiullina held a working meeting with representatives of the All-Russian Union Insurance Association to discuss the development prospects and the current status of the insurance industry.

The meeting addressed a wide spectrum of issues including the situation in the OSAGO (compulsory motor third party liability insurance) market, practical aspects of interaction between insurance companies and the regulator, measures to maintain insurance agents’ financial stability and transition to a new plan of accounts.

In particular, participants to the meeting supported the need for generalisation and analysis of the practice to implement the OSAGO law as well as for a closer cooperation with the judicial bodies on this issue.
