On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On March 2, 2015 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

• Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles — «Saint Sophia Cathedral, Tobolsk, Tyumen Region» (catalogue number 5111-0287) and «Railway Terminal, Vladivostok» (catalogue number 5111-0288) of the series «Architectural Monuments of Russia».

Description of the coins of precious metals:

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31,1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39,0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs of each design), have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coins «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2015», between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side:

• of a silver proof coin «Saint Sophia Cathedral, Tobolsk, Tyumen Region» bears a relief image of Saint Sophia cathedral in Tobolsk, Tyumen Region. There are inscriptions — «СОФИЙСКО-УСПЕНСКИЙ СОБОР» (SAINT SOPHIA-ASSUMPTION CATHEDRAL) along the circumference on top and «ТОБОЛЬСК» (TOBOLSK) at the bottom;

• of a silver proof coin «Railway Terminal, Vladivostok» depicts a relief image of the railway terminal in Vladivostok. There are inscriptions — «ЖЕЛЕЗНОДОРОЖНЫЙ ВОКЗАЛ» (RAILWAY TERMINAL) along the circumference on top and «ВЛАДИВОСТОК» (VLADIVOSTOK) confined by two dots at the bottom.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
