On results of tender to develop Bank of Russia up and coming payment system

The Bank of Russia has summed up the results of the tender to develop the Bank of Russia up and coming payment system (Bank of Russia settlement network). The winner is to create a technical platform for the Bank of Russia payment system to provide guaranteed and continuous settlements and payments for the system participants irrespective of their geographical location and time zone.

The winner of the 5-entrant tender was the closed joint-stock company Laboratory of New Information Technologies LANIT (CJSC LANIT) which will enjoy the right to sign agreements to develop the automated system in accordance with the Bank of Russia requirements.

The system will employ Russian and foreign software components including the products of SIA S.p.A. company (Italy) which meet today’s reliability, safety, efficiency, quality and architecture requirements.

Implementation of this project will allow the Bank of Russia to receive a unique technical platform for its payment system, initial application codes, licences, and enable it with a possibility to modify and develop the platform with its own capacities.

The safety and security aspects will be taken care of by the Russian companies which have appropriate licences and operate in the information security sphere.

The project is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2017.
