On meeting of Bank of Russia Expert Board on Financial Literacy in NFI activities

The Bank of Russia Expert Board on Financial Literacy in the Activities of Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NFI) held the first meeting where it discussed topical issues of improving financial literacy of the population.

The objective of the Expert Board is to work out proposals on the set of measures aimed at drawing attention to the issue of financial literacy in NFI activities. The board includes representatives of public and voluntary service organisations and educational institutions, independent experts, and financial market participants.

The participants considered a draft Bank of Russia strategic action plan to improve financial literacy regarding non-bank financial instruments and services and discussed goals, objectives and draft program of the Second All-Russian Congress ‘Financial Education of Citizens". The Congress that will be held on 2-5 March 2015 in Anapa is organised by the Bank of Russia Service for Protection of Financial Services Consumers and Minority Shareholders.
