Inflation hits five-year low in most regions in 2025
Inflation declined in 82 out of the 85 Russian regions year on year. It dropped to 5.6% in 2025 from 9.5% in 2024 across Russia in general.
Price growth slowed in 46 regions in December month on month. In five regions, prices were even down on average.
Most regions registered a lower rate of growth in fruit and vegetables prices in December than in November. Sugar continued to go down in price in 67 regions. Non-food prices were generally increasing at a moderate pace. Fuel prices were down again. Services prices were up but to a lesser extent than in November. The most noticeable decrease was recorded in prices for foreign travel.
The Bank of Russia will keep monetary conditions as tight as necessary to ensure a further sustainable slowdown in inflation to 4%.
