In October, annual inflation decreased in 65 out of 85 Russia regions.
Compared to September, prices in October either went down or remained unchanged in two regions and rose in the others.
The decline in fruit and vegetable prices was followed by seasonal growth. Egg prices were up, while sugar prices fell. Non-food prices increased overall, with petrol prices rising most notably. Services became cheaper: in particular, foreign travel and hospitality prices went down after the end of the peak season.
The Bank of Russia will keep monetary conditions as tight as required to return inflation to the target, which is close to 4%.
More details on inflation in each Russian region are available in the information and analytical materials.
