New requirements for CRAs to disclose credit ratings and rating outlook

1 October 2025
News

Starting from 1 October 2025, credit rating agencies (CRAs) will have to disclose more information about credit ratings assigned and rating outlook on their websites.

Specifically, CRAs will describe how the most significant factors influence credit ratings. These factors impact a rated entity’s ability to fulfil its financial obligations. It is also necessary to disclose information about the assignment of the ‘under supervision’ status to the credit rating, the grounds for this, and the period during which the status will be maintained. The said status means that the rating is highly likely to be revised in the near future.

An important new requirement is that CRAs should disclose the assessment of a company’s standalone creditworthiness, i.e. without taking into account external factors raising or reducing its credit rating.

All these measures will help standardise CRAs’ practices to disclose credit ratings and rating outlook.
