Regulator recommends that banks and MFOs forgive debts of clients killed at Crocus City Hall
The Bank of Russia recommends that creditors write off debts of the borrowers killed in the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall. The regulator sent such a letter to banks, microfinance organisations (MFOs), consumer credit cooperatives, agricultural consumer credit cooperatives, and pawnshops. Credit institutions are entitled to do this without requests from the heirs.
Creditors should also provide the necessary support to the victims based on their applications, including their complete release from obligations under loan agreements. Credit institutions should post information on the measures taken on their websites.
