Monitoring sectoral financial flows: receipts remain at Q3 level in October

In October, changes in financial payments suggest that higher uncertainty in late September had a limited impact on economic activity. The amount of incoming payments made through the Bank of Russia Payment System hardly changed in October compared to 2022 Q3.
The volume of incoming payments went down below the average of 2022 Q3 in industries focused on external demand but exceeded this level in consumer demand sectors. Notably, financial flows in traditional consumer sectors remained stable or declined evidencing a cooling-off of consumer activity.
