Europrotocol Online Service: New Application and New Opportunities
Europrotocol Online is now available in mobile applications of individual insurers. The ability to integrate the service into market participants’ applications will expand its use. It also offers new opportunities.
The service was created at the initiative of the Bank of Russia as a universal module that can be integrated into various applications. Since 2019, drivers can use it in the OSAGO Assistant application of the Russian Association of Motor Insurers.
The updated Europrotocol Online allows you to report a road accident from two mobile devices at a time — by each driver in his part (implemented in the OSAGO Assistant and the application of one insurer). This makes the process even faster. As before, registration from one device is possible, and the second participant in the accident only confirms the entered data. It is important that the service reduces the risk of errors when reporting a road accident. If a failure occurs, the monitoring system will warn drivers that electronic registration is temporary unavailable so that they can immediately proceed to filling out paper forms.
‘We plan to transfer the total loss settlement process under OSAGO to electronic form and drivers do not have to go to the insurer’s office. This requires that a driver could submit an insurance claim and all documents attached to it via the Internet, as well as enable remote inspection of the car. Such a draft law is under consideration by the State Duma, and we hope that it will be adopted soon,’ said Vladimir Chistyukhin, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia.
