Issue of commemorative coins made of precious metals

On 3 June 2019, the Bank of Russia issues the following commemorative coins:

— a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 rubles ‘Main Narzan Baths, Kislovodsk’ of the Architectural Monuments of Russia series;

— a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 rubles ‘Zheltovodsky Makaryev Convent of the Holy Trinity, Nizhny Novgorod Region’ of the Architectural Monuments of Russia series;

— a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 rubles and a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 rubles ‘70 Years of Diplomatic Relations with the People’s Republic of China’.

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 rubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1,000) and 25 rubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1,000) and a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 rubles (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1,000) have a round shape 39.0 mm, 60.0 mm and 22.6 mm in diameter respectively.

The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim along the circumference.

The obverse of the coins bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions: ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins ‘3 РУБЛЯ’ (3 RUBLES), ‘25 РУБЛЕЙ’ (25 RUBLES), ‘50 РУБЛЕЙ’ (50 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2019 г.’ (2019), an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, fineness, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint, and fine metal content.

The reverse:

— of the 3-ruble coin ‘Main Narzan Baths, Kislovodsk’ (Catalogue No. 5111-0403) bears a relief image of the facade of the Main Narzan Baths building against the background of the city, laser treated for matte finishing; along the circumference there are inscriptions: ‘ГЛАВНЫЕ НАРЗАННЫЕ ВАННЫ’ (MAIN NARZAN BATHS) at the top and ‘КИСЛОВОДСК’ (KISLOVODSK) at the bottom.

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 3.0 thousand pcs;

— of the 25-ruble coin ‘Zheltovodsky Makaryev Convent of the Holy Trinity, Nizhny Novgorod Region’ (Catalogue No. 5115-0149) bears a relief image of the Zheltovodsky Makaryev Convent of the Holy Trinity, the lower part of the coin, laser treated for matte finishing, features the Volga river and the monastery reflected in it; along the circumference there are inscriptions: ‘СВЯТО-ТРОИЦКИЙ МАКАРЬЕВСКИЙ ЖЕЛТОВОДСКИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ’ (ZHELTOVODSKY MAKARYEV CONVENT OF THE HOLY TRINITY) at the top and ‘НИЖЕГОРОДСКАЯ ОБЛАСТЬ’ (NIZHNY NOVGOROD REGION) at the bottom.

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The mintage of the coin is 1.5 thousand pcs;

— of the 3-ruble coin ‘70 Years of Diplomatic Relations with the People’s Republic of China’ (Catalogue No. 5111-0404) bears relief images of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin in Red Square in Moscow and Tiananmen Gate in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, between and below the images there is a five-line inscription ‘70 ЛЕТ ДИПЛОМАТИЧЕСКИМ ОТНОШЕНИЯМ РОССИЯ—КНР’ (70 YEARS OF RUSSIA—PRC RELATIONS); the circumference of the coin is decorated with 16-century Russian ornament and stylised Chinese flower patterns.

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 5.0 thousand pcs;

— of the 50-ruble coin ‘70 Years of Diplomatic Relations with the People’s Republic of China’ (Catalogue No. 5216-0119) bears relief images of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin in Red Square in Moscow and Tiananmen Gate in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, between and below the images there is a five-line inscription ‘70 ЛЕТ ДИПЛОМАТИЧЕСКИМ ОТНОШЕНИЯМ РОССИЯ—КНР’ (70 YEARS OF RUSSIA—PRC RELATIONS).

The mintage of the coin is 0.5 thousand pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance at their face value for all kinds of payments without any restrictions.
