Nikolay Surikov

Born on 29 September 1961 in Lyubertsy, the Moscow Region.

Education

1987: received a degree in international economic relations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Career

1984: Librarian at the Central Research Library of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

1987: Senior Economist in the Directorate of Showrooms at the USSR Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

1987–1991: Deputy Secretary, Secretary of the Committee of the Young Communist League at the USSR Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

1991–1993: various positions in a commercial organisation.

1993–1997: Vice President at JSC Sintex.

1997–2000: various positions at the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange, including Advisor to the Director General and Member of the Directorate.

2001–2004: Head of the Secretariat of the First Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

2004–2005: Deputy Head of the Inspection for Control of Federal Budget Expenses on Education and Culture at the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation.
