Bank of Russia issues investment precious metal coins

On 25 June 2021, the Bank of Russia issues investment gold coins in denomination of 25 rubles named ‘Saint George the Victorious’ (Catalogue No. 5215-0036), 100 rubles (Catalogue No. 5217-0048), and 200 rubles (Catalogue No. 5219-0033).

Investment gold coins in the denomination of 25 rubles (fine metal content 3.11 g, fineness 999/1,000), 100 rubles (fine metal content 15.55 g, fineness 999/1,000) and 200 rubles (fine metal content 31.10 g, fineness 999/1,000) are round in shape and are 16.0 mm, 30.0 mm and 33.0 mm in diameter respectively.

The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim along the circumference.

The obverse of the coins features a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) and ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the coin denominations ‘25 РУБЛЕЙ’ (25 RUBLES), ‘100 РУБЛЕЙ’ (100 RUBLES) and ‘200 РУБЛЕЙ’ (200 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2021 г.’ (2021), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, the mint trademark, and fine metal content.

The reverse of the coins features a relief image of Saint George the Victorious on horseback killing a dragon with a spear.

The edges of the coins are corrugated.

The coins are minted in uncirculated quality.

The mintage of:

— the 25-ruble coins is up to 100 thousand pcs;

— the 100-ruble coins is up to 100 thousand pcs;

— the 200-ruble coins is up to 100 thousand pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation and are mandatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
