On 4 May 2022, the Bank of Russia issues the following commemorative silver coins:

— a 3-ruble coin the Order of the Victory of the series the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945,

— a 2-ruble coin Amet-khan Sultan of the series Heroes of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

Silver coins in the denomination of 2 rubles (fine metal content 15.55 g, fineness 925/1,000) and 3 rubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1,000) have a round shape and are 33.0 mm and 39.0 mm in diameter, respectively.

The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim along the circumference.

The obverse of the coins bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and inscriptions: ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins ‘2 РУБЛЯ’ (2 RUBLES), ‘3 РУБЛЯ’ (3 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2022 г.’ (2022), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, the mint trademark, and fine metal content.



The reverse:

— of the Order of the Victory coin (Catalogue Number: 5111-0460) features a coloured relief image of the Order of the Victory against the background of the images of the Kremlin and festive fireworks, laser treated for matte finishing; at the bottom, along the circumference, there is an inscription: ‘ОРДЕН ‘ПОБЕДА’ (THE ORDER OF THE VICTORY) and a date ‘1945’ above it.


The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 3.0 thousand pcs;

— of the Amet-khan Sultan coin (Catalogue Number: 5110-0170) features relief images of the portrait of Amet-khan Sultan, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, and Gold Star medals against the background of flying airplanes silhouettes and stylised images of airplane trails in the sky, laser treated for matte finishing; at the bottom, there is a relief inscription: ‘АМЕТ-ХАН СУЛТАН’ (AMET-KHAN SULTAN).


The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 3.0 thousand pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation and are mandatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments, without any restrictions, at their face value.
