Regional Economy report: economic growth moderates
In May—June, growth in output and consumption became more muted. However, the situation varied across industries and regions.
More moderate demand for housing entailed a decrease in the number of new projects launched in many Russian regions. Central Russia and the Volga Region reported a decline in furniture output. Contrastingly, cargo traffic at Far Eastern seaports rebounded, and the output of meat and dairy products in the Urals and the North-West remained high. In Siberia, the output of paper and paper products stabilised after two years of growth, in part due to export difficulties.
The special topics of this issue include imports and stocks, the labour market, and the car market.
