On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On March 15, 2018 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

  • Silver proof coin in denomination of 1 Rouble “Centenary of the Military Commissariats” (catalogue number 5109-0122, mintage 3000 pcs).
  • Silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles “The 75th Anniversary of the NRC ‘Kurchatov Institute’ (catalogue number 5111-0381, mintage 3000 pcs).
  • Silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles ‘Centenary of the Foundation of Kemerovo’ (catalogue number 5111-0379, mintage 2000 pcs).
  • Silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles ‘Voronezh State University’ (catalogue number 5111-0380, mintage 2000 pcs).
  • Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles ‘Trinity Monastery, Saratov’ (catalogue number 5111-0376, mintage 3000 pcs) and ‘Saint Trinity Monastery, Simferopol’ (catalogue number 5111-0377, mintage 3000 pcs) of the series ‘Architectural Monuments of Russia’.
  • Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0378, mintage 3000 pcs) , 25 Roubles (catalogue number 5115-0142, mintage 1000 pcs) and a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (catalogue number 5216-0115, mintage 1000 pcs) of the series ” The 300th Anniversary of the Russian Police“

Description of the coin of precious metals:

Silver proof coin in denomination of 1 Rouble (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 25.0 mm), silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm),silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm) and gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 22.6 mm) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denominations of the coins — “1 РУБЛЬ” (1 ROUBLE) , “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES), “25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 ROUBLES), 50 РУБЛЕЙ" (50 ROUBLES) and the year — “2018”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side:

  • of the coin “Centenary of the Military Commissariats” depicts a relief image of the large emblem of Main Organizational Mobilizational Directorate of the General Staff of Armed Forces of Russian Federation. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom “100-ЛЕТИЕ ВОЕННЫХ КОМИССАРИАТОВ” (CENTENARY OF THE MILITARY COMMISSARIATS).
  • of the coin “The 75th Anniversary of the NRC “Kurchatov Institute” depicts a colored image of the emblem of NRC “Kurchatov Institute against the background of stylized model of an atom. There are inscriptions along the circumference — ‘НИЦ ‘КУРЧАТОВСКИЙ ИНСТИТУТ’ (NRC KURCHATOV INSTITUTE) and below in two lines — ‘осн. в 1943 г.’ (founded in 1943).
  • of the coin ‘Centenary of the Foundation of Kemerovo’ depicts a relief images of the monument to Mihail Volkov and city administration building. There is an inscription at the bottom ‘КЕМЕРОВО’ (KEMEROVO).
  • of the coin ‘Voronezh State University’ depicts a relief image of the Voronezh State University building against the background of the contour image of an open book. At the left side there are laser matted images of faculties’ emblems. The inscription on the top says ‘ВОРОНЕЖСКИЙ ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫЙ УНИВЕРСИТЕТ’ (VORONEZH STATE UNIVERSITY).
  • of the coin ‘Trinity Monastery, Saratov’ depicts a relief image of the Trinity Monastery against the background of the panoramic view of Saratov. There are the inscriptions along the circumference: ‘ТРОИЦКИЙ СОБОР’ (TRINITY MONASTRY) on top and ‘САРАТОВ’ (SARATOV) at the bottom, framed by floral ornament.
  • of the coin ‘Saint Trinity Monastery, Simferopol’ depicts a relief image of the Saint Trinity Monastery. There are inscriptions along the circumference ‘СВЯТО-ТРОИЦКИЙ СОБОР’ (SAINT TRINITY MONASTERY) on top and ‘СИМФЕРОПОЛЬ’ (SIMFIROPOL) at the bottom, framed by floral ornament.
  • of the silver coin of the series ’ The 300th Anniversary of the Russian Police” in denomination 3 Roubles depicts a relief image of a policeman and a cap badge against the background of the laser matted ponoramic view of the Nevskiy avenue in prerevolutionary Saint Petersburg. There is an inscription at the bottom “300 ЛЕТ ПОЛИЦИИ РОССИИ” (THE 300th ANNIVERSARY OF THE RUSSIAN POLICE).
  • of the silver coin of the series " The 300th Anniversary of the Russian Police" in denomination 25 Roubles depicts relief images of modern policemen with a service dog against the background of laser matted emblem and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation building and the badge of police officer performed in color on the right. There is an inscription at the bottom “300 ЛЕТ ПОЛИЦИИ РОССИИ” (THE 300th ANNIVERSARY OF THE RUSSIAN POLICE).
  • of the gold coin of the series " The 300th Anniversary of the Russian Police" in denomination 50 Roubles depicts a relief image of A. E. Devier’s portrait. There are inscriptions along the circumference “ГЕНЕРАЛ-ПОЛИЦМЕЙСТЕР” А. Э. ДЕВИЕР" (GENERAL-POLICE CHIEF A.E. DEVIER) on top and “300 ЛЕТ ПОЛИЦИИ РОССИИ” (THE 300th ANNIVERSARY OF THE RUSSIAN POLICE) at the bottom.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
