New commemorative coin issued

On 13 April 2018, the Bank of Russia issues a commemorative silver coin in denomination of two rubles, dedicated to the 225^th anniversary of the birth (15 April 1793) of the astronomer and geodesist Struve. The coin belongs to the Outstanding Personalities of Russia series.

The reverse side of the coin features a portrait of Struve. To the right of the portrait there is an astronomical tool against the façade of the Pulkovo Observatory building and a starry sky.

The mintage of the coin is 3,000 pcs.
