1975–1988: Economist, chief economist with the Planning and Economic Division of the State Bank of the USSR (Gosbank).

1988–1992: Chief economist, section head of the Gosbank Planning and Banking Co-ordination Division.

1992–1993: Head of the Economic Analysis and Banking Regulation Division of the Bank of Russia Banking Regulation Department.

1993–1995: Deputy Director of the Bank of Russia Banking Supervision Department.

From April 1995: Director of the Bank of Russia General Economic Department.

From June 2013: Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia — Director, General Economic Department.

From February 1, 2017: Adviser to the Governor of the Bank of Russia.
