On issuing of investment coin of precious metals

On August 7, 2017 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues a bullion coin of precious metal:

  • A silver uncirculated coin in denomination of 3 Roubles - “Saint George the Victorious” (catalogue number 5111-0178).

Description of the coin of precious metal:

A silver uncirculated coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage up to 500000 pcs) has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin - “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES) and the year - “2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of Saint George the Victorious on a horseback spearing a dragon.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
