On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On December 1, 2017, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metal:

  • Three silver proof coins in denomination of 1 Rouble — „Motorised Rifle Troops” (catalogue numbers 5109-0118, 5109-0119, 5109-0120) of the series „The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”;

Description of the coins of precious metal:

Silver proof coins in denomination of 1 Rouble (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 25.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs of each design) have the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins — „1 РУБЛЬ” (1 ROUBLE) and the year — „2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side:

  • of the first coin depicts the image of the emblem of the Land Forces of the Russian Federation. There is an inscription „МОТОСТРЕЛКОВЫЕ ВОЙСКА” („MOTORISED RIFLE TROOPS”) along the circumference at the bottom;
  • of the second coin depicts the image of the Red Army soldier and on the background: on the left — the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin, on the right — the armored truck BA-27. There is an inscription „МОТОСТРЕЛКОВЫЕ ВОЙСКА” („MOTORISED RIFLE TROOPS”) along circumference at the bottom;
  • of the third coin depicts the image of the modern infantryman and the infantry fighting vehicle ARMATA. There is an inscription „МОТОСТРЕЛКОВЫЕ ВОЙСКА” („MOTORISED RIFLE TROOPS”) along circumference at the bottom.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
