Issue of commemorative coins of precious metals

On 1 February 2019, the Bank of Russia issues the following commemorative coins:

— silver proof coin in denomination of 3 rubles ‘Centenary of the Financial University’;

— silver proof coin in denomination of 3 rubles and gold proof coin in denomination of 50 rubles of the series ‘Centenary of the Foundation of the Republic of Bashkortostan’.

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 rubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1,000) and a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 rubles (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1,000) have a round shape 39.0 mm and 22.6 mm in diameter respectively.

The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim along the circumference.

The obverse of the coins bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions: ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins ‘3 РУБЛЯ’ (3 RUBLES), ‘50 РУБЛЕЙ’ (50 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2019 г.’ (2019), an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, fineness, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint, and fine metal content.

The reverse:

— of the 3-ruble coin ‘Centenary of the Financial University’ (Catalogue Number: 5111-0399) depicts stylised images of the building of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the printed wiring board, laser treated for matte finishing, as well as the University’s emblem and a relief image of bay leaves; there is a semicircular inscription: „ФИНАНСОВЫЙ УНИВЕРСИТЕТ ПРИ ПРАВИТЕЛЬСТВЕ РОССИЙСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАЦИИ” (FINANCIAL UNIVERSITY UNDER THE GOVERNMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION).

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 3.0 thousand pcs;

— of the 3-ruble coin of the series ‘Centenary of the Foundation of the Republic of Bashkortostan’ (Catalogue Number: 5111-0400) against the stripe coloured as the flag of Bashkortostan depicts relief images of the monument to Salavat Yulaev and articles symbolising historic and cultural authenticity of the Bashkirs; in the background there are stylised compositions of objects symbolising the multinational population and the developed economy of Bashkortostan, laser treated for matte finishing; at the bottom there is a horizontal inscription: „100 ЛЕТ” (100 YEARS) and a semicircular inscription: „РЕСПУБЛИКА БАШКОРТОСТАН” (THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN).

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 3.0 thousand pcs;

— of the 50-ruble coin of the series ‘Centenary of the Foundation of the Republic of Bashkortostan’ (Catalogue Number: 5216-0118) depicts relief images of the Congress-Hall building in Ufa and the coat of arms of the Republic of Bashkortostan; the lower part of the coin field and the background image of the upper part, laser treated for matte finishing, are decorated with Bashkir national pattern; at the bottom there is an inscription in the matte field: „100 ЛЕТ” (100 YEARS) and a semicircular inscription: „РЕСПУБЛИКА БАШКОРТОСТАН” (THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN).

The mintage of the coin is 1.0 thousand pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
