Obverse

in the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES), below: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue "2010 г." (2010), to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

in the centre - the architectural ensemble of the Kirillo-Beloszersky Monastery, to the left above, in a half-oval - the colored image of a fresco, below - inscription in two lines: "КИРИЛЛО-БЕЛОЗЕРСКИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ" (KIRILLO-BELIZERSKY MONASTERY).

The Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery was founded in the X century by Kirill the Belozersky on the shore of Siversky Lake. The architectural complex of the monastery includes the Assumption Cathedral (1497-1498), the hospital (late XVIth - early XVIIth cc), the fortress constructions of the "Old City" (XVIth c) and "New City" (1653-1682), аs well as some churches and buildings of the XVIth - XVIIIth centuries. The monastery possesses an unique collection of icons, manuscripts and old books, local applied arts including an unique collection of the peasant hand-made decorated furniture and ceramics. Before the first half of the XVIIth century the monastery was the economic and spiritual life of the Northern Russian Area.
