Fyodor Alekseyevich Golovin – the nearest associate of Peter I, a diplomat and a statesman. His activity in the epoque of Peter’s reforms was wide and varied: the state chancellor, the general field marshall, the general-admiral, the president of the ambassadorial affairs, the commander of the Navy Order, the head of the Armory, Gold and Silver Chambers. In November 1698, Peter I established the first Russian award Order – the Saint Apostle Andrew Pervoznanny (The First Called). F.A. Golovin became the first chevalier of the order. The order is restored as the highest state award of the Russian Federation in 1998.
